It Seems Like Forever

I can't believe it has been over 3 months since I last posted on this blog.

I really want to get back into the blog world again. I finally feel like I have the time to do it.

I am probally going to change my title...still in the thinking phase of it all.

In a nutshell for the last 3 months this has been my life.

  • Husband lives in Minneapolis and I live in Wisconsin. He commutes here on the weekends.
  • Our house is up for sale and has been since March. Wish it would just sell. I really am trying to be patient.
  • I resigned my teaching job that I had for 16 years. I was a serious basket case for a while. I still am numb and feel like I am in mourning.
  • Cleaning out a classroom you've had for that long was a lot of work. I filled up the third stall of our garage. (Hubby thinks I am a hoarder..honey you just need a lot of things to teach young kids)
  • I've applied for many teaching positions in the Minneapolis area....still waiting for that phone call for an interview. But with my years of experience, I am way too expensive and not desirable for school districts that have a budget crisis. I just wish I could tell them that I will work for a lower pay...I just want a job.
  • Trying to enjoy my time off, but it gets awful lonely when hubby is gone and the kids are always doing things with their friends.
  • I am still a work out nut job and completed my second half marathon in May. I ran a race last weekend and am still thinking about doing the Trek triathlon in 2 weeks.
  • I am going to check in on your blogs and see what you have been up too and I am even going to give this blog some TLC and post photos and other things.

So cheers to feeling like I am back in it and trying to get back to my old self!!!

Feeling Buried

I am alive!! I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted. My life has been very busy these days.

  • Relocation...relocation...relocation!!! Hubby has moved to Minnesota. I am here with the kids.
  • Trying to figure out who is going to sell the house in this HORRIFIC market!
  • Sucks to be a single parent.
  • Training for a half-marathon too. That is coming up in 7 weeks.
  • Took a trip with the kids to Minnesota for 5 days. Went to the Mall of America.
  • Trying to get my resume done and applied for a Minnesota license for teaching.
  • Looking at houses in MN...I am SO going to miss my house. I love my house.
  • Going to parent conferences, leading parent conferences, decluttering my home.

I could go on and on. I will someday get back into the swing of it all. I will get back to reading yours too. I miss it all and think of things often. I am just blah with this whole thing.

One is Not Enough

Last week my wedding ring had to be taken off. Not because of anything other than it is really bad shape and needs major repairs. We went looking for a new setting and even an upgrade...yikes!! I think I will go for the repair for now and a new one another time. ( Maybe for our 15 anniversary...it is this year)

Anyways, I went out Saturday night. So, we go out and we are at this bar...hubby is downstairs with a group of people and I venture upstairs to get a drink. I was up there only a matter of a few minutes and WHAM!! I was hit on with the most ridiculous pick up lines EVER!!!

"Are you a chiropractor? My back could use some cracking." Or "You must be a firefighter because I really need to be rescued. " The last one was something about Botox...I didn't even let the idiot finish and I was gone.

My friends seem to think I was hit on because of the fact that I don't have a ring on. I almost bought a ridiculous ring at Kohl's for $5.00 just to wear until mine comes back.

A Brand New Journey

For weeks now we have been going back and forth about relocating. It finally came to a head last weekend when I just couldn't ignore this issue anymore.

After ALOT of tears and serious deliberation, we finally made the decision. My hubby accepted the position and we will be relocating to the Twin Cities area of MN.

I still can't believe it. It just doesn't seem real. I have lived in SE Wisconsin all of my life. I am trying to be positve and look at this like an adventure. Now I have to find a job. I have to do all of this networking and find a job. I've had my teaching job at the same school for 16 years!! I am a little freaked out.

My hubby is going to go ahead and start this journey on his own. That is the part that is going to suck the most....

The kids and I will stay here until the end of the school year and then start our new adventure.

The kids smiled when I said we can go to the Mall of America! :)

I've ignored my own blog again for weeks and yours too. I will get caught up again. I just had to sort all of this out.

Obsessed or What?

I am hooked on this author. I can't get enough. My husband will attest to that. I've ignored my family for the love of these books.

Love the One You're With and Something Borrowed. Each read in one day. I couldn't put it down. I ignored my family as we headed up to Minnesota to check out the area just in case we decide that is where we want to live. I ignored everyone this past weekend to read as well.

I guess it is back to reality tomorrow when I head back into the classroom and instead of reading my new fav author, I will be back reading Magic Tree House and the adventures of Jack and Annie. Instead of the adventures of Dex, Rachel, and Darcy.
I am so going to get the next book in that series called Something Blue. So I guess my family will be ignored next weekend too.

I have a feeling it will be a rough morning as we all head back to our normal routines.

Happy 2010!

I can't believe it has been over 2 weeks since I've blogged. I've tried to keep up with everyone else's, but I have had so much on my mind that needless to say a LOT has been happening in our home.

Christmas 2009 was a great one. We celebrated with family and friends.

Followed by days of stress thinking about our family's future. Do we move or not.

Just as we thought we made our decision more time was put upon us to think about it all over again.

We cried, laughed, drank lots of wine, and even started writing the pros/cons. Kids were crying, family was crying, friends were crying. But we just can't make up our mind.

I wonder if I just take the plunge and do it, that it will be easier. (I was suppose to plunge today in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan, but I couldn't bring myself to do it when the temps are in the teens and the windchill even colder. )

The decision will be made and whatever that decision will be, I WILL not look back. I will look forward and know that life is an adventure. I won't have any regrets.

Happy 2010. Hope it is a good one!
