For weeks now we have been going back and forth about relocating. It finally came to a head last weekend when I just couldn't ignore this issue anymore.
After ALOT of tears and serious deliberation, we finally made the decision. My hubby accepted the position and we will be relocating to the Twin Cities area of MN.
I still can't believe it. It just doesn't seem real. I have lived in SE Wisconsin all of my life. I am trying to be positve and look at this like an adventure. Now I have to find a job. I have to do all of this networking and find a job. I've had my teaching job at the same school for 16 years!! I am a little freaked out.
My hubby is going to go ahead and start this journey on his own. That is the part that is going to suck the most....
The kids and I will stay here until the end of the school year and then start our new adventure.
The kids smiled when I said we can go to the Mall of America! :)
I've ignored my own blog again for weeks and yours too. I will get caught up again. I just had to sort all of this out.

Congratulations on your hubby finding work so soon and your new adventure! And it will be an adventure for sure. I moved to another town once (ended up returning to hometown a couple years later though) and it was really cool starting brand new and discovering new people and things. Minneapolis sounds like a good area, not too big, not too small. One of my favorite blog's writer lives there.
Let the Adventure Begin!!!!!
We will all be here with you.
As long as you are keeping an open mind about it and looking at is as an adventure I am sure things will work out... attitude is everything.
Like Susan said, we'll all be there with you to support you. You've got a great outlook on it in thinking of it as a new adventure. Can't wait to see what new things will be happening!
i am sorry, but in the same breath i am sure it will all work out and like you said, an adventure. not to be geographically stupid but how far will you be from friends and family ?
I am very happy for you!
Let the journey begin!
Congrats! I know it's scary......I've done it twice now. I'd love to help if I can.
Between Denver and KC, I was alone with 3 young children (2 in diapers, one on the bottle for a while) for 7 months while selling our house. It was very difficult, but we made it!
A relocation - and even a separation like this - can do so much for your family. I hope you find the positive things in it that I did. I promise, it will be OK.
Thinking of you!
I know that is a lot of change to process. Praying it all goes as smoothly as possible.
I know exactly how you feel about the idea of relocating because I have lived in the same general area all my life. I've never wanted to live anywhere else. It's great that your husband found a job because the market these days is so rough and that's a positive thing. It doesn't mean you have to be jumping with joy. Living apart for the next few months won't be the easiest either. Don't think you have to be positive and upbeat all the time on your blog. Use it to get your feelings out whether they are good or bad. Keep running as well! A few glasses of wine can't hurt either lol. Good luck with all the changes, I'll be thinking of you!
Wow, you have sure ended 2009 and started 2010 in an exciting way! Congratulations on your husband finding work and on making such a difficult decision. It sounds like you've given it alot of thought. I know it seems frightening and the unknown often is but you sound like a couple/family who is strong, you will do well I'm sure. Good luck, I look forward to reading about your family's 'adventure'!
Congratulations. I hope things go really smoothly for you and your entire family. I know it will be hard to live apart until the end of the school year. I'm sure this plan will be easier on the kids though.
Sending good wishes your way!
WOW!!!!
Oh man. That is a big step. I know it must be scary but I'm sure it will be wonderful. The Twin Cities area is awesome. What an adventure your family will have together.
I hope you are all doing well in your transition time!
Wow, you sound really positive about the move and all the changes. Good for you.I hope it all goes well, sounds like with all the experience you have had as a teacher you will find a job easily. Good Luck, hang in there.
