My friend Sarah brought me to this really cool home store today called Kirklands. I scored and could of bought some more. Thinking back...I so should have!! Picture frame after discounts $ 18.00

I also bought some wall decorations or like sticker type things for E's room...so cheap and a really cute candle holder.

I can't wait to complete the decorating in my house and add some new furniture too!!

MTLE Madness

Eventhough I've had my teaching license since 1991. I am in the process of studying for the MTLE (Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examination). I have a Wisconsin teaching license and when I moved last summer, my license did not transfer and I have to be subjected to a series of exams to get my license.

I think it sucks and everyday I study and dwell on this and still think it sucks. I have 19 years of classroom experience and my master's degree in education and have taken many workshops, etc. etc.

The stuff on the MTLE is so hard because I haven't had some of these math things since high school. I don't teach high school math or even middle school math, why oh why do I have to do this?!!! Uggghhhhhh....

There is nothing I can do to change this, so I have to deal with it and embrace it. I took 3 practice tests so far and each time I take it, I keep getting better. (hopefully that is a sign). For the next 3 weeks, I am going to be studying like crazy....because after I take the Basics(haha...because I think it so far from being basic). I will have to take 5 more tests just to get my license. I have a temporary license and hopefully with my dedication and DETERMINATION I will have a full time teaching job come this fall. Because after all....that is my passion!!

I Know You Are Jealous!

That's not a joke or a fake picture! The bottom number is the temperature it was when I woke up this morning. A crazy negative, below zero 28.4 degrees!! It hurt to breathe in that cold air. Your coat crinkled and I had 2 middle schoolers who were crying they didn't want to go to the bus stop this morning. And why couldn't they just stay home. I said I can't stay home and so off you go!! We are heading for a warm up next week....a very mild 24 degrees above zero!!

Thursday Thoughts

• I feel like I live in the Arctic Tundra!! I can't believe the temperature is going to drop to like -13 degrees or lower and windchills like 30 to 40 below zero!! I felt like when I walked outside I was going to lose my breath. It is so crazy!!!
• I absolutely love my job! I will be so sad when my long term position ends in about 6 weeks. I am hoping to get a full time position for the next school year!! I will try like crazy! ( I must love that word)
• I am going to sign up for another half marathon this year and my goal is to beat my time from last year. Still haven't decided which race I want to do. I am thinking about Minneapolis in June.
• Cabin Fever!!! My kids are nuts! I am nuts!!
• Thank goodness for some wine on this freezing cold Thursday night and all new shows on ABC like Grey's and Private Practice.

Enough Already

I have always loved exercise! I love working out. When I work out I just feel so much better. The hardest part about going to the gym this time of year is the crowds. One of my favorite classes and group exercise is cycle class. Usually you can get there 10 min. before and get a bike and warm up and even stop in the locker room and lock up your stuff. Well in January all that has changed!!!!

You have to get to class like 30 min. before. You have to just hang up your coat and run to the studio with all of your stuff, because if you don't, you don't get a bike. It's horrible. I am actually looking forward to all of these newbies to quit and it going back to the way it was. Because quite frankly I am in no mood to wrestle someone for a bike!!

Deep in Thought

My husband and I always tease our son about his twirling habits. I guess he is just deep in thought. (playing games on FB)

And hoping this long hair phase passes soon too!!

Giving it a Try

My friend really wants me to start this Project 365 with her. I would have to call mine Project 355. I think it would challenge me to be creative and really practice using my camera. So, I think I can start this...so thanks Sarah for finally talking me into this and also doing Latin Hip Hop class too!! So I will grab your sign and give it a try!

It's All About the Ball

This is my crazy dog Zena....she has a ball in her mouth all of the time. She is constantly bringing anyone who will pay any attention her slimy....yucky ball. If you start, you are stuck with her ball playing for a very long time. Please play with me....
