It's The Final Countdown

It's the Final Countdown! Yes, my lazy days of summer are soon coming to a close. It is back to school time for me and the kids. I report Monday and the kids go back on Sept. 1st. However, I have already had an action packed few days and leaving tomorrow for a 5 day camping trip before Monday comes.

Took the kids to Chicago on the train. We went to Navy Pier, splashed in the fountains, watched the jets for the upcoming air show, went to Millennium Park, took the water taxi, and left the 2 younger girls (they love to dress like twins...they are cousins) in Chicago for the weekend with my youngest sister who SPOILED the heck out of them....that is for another post.

Those Shoes Were Made for Dancing and Dancing

Dancing Queens we were last night. Had a great time.
This about sums up my night.
  • Drank some really good beer.
  • Hung out with really great friends.
  • Danced and danced and drank some more.
  • Stayed out past midnight. (I didn't turn into a pumpkin...oh wait....)

  • This sums up my morning. Got up around 8am to get ibuprofen. (Thought my head was going to errupt).
  • Went back to bed...stopped off in the bathroom and hugged the porcelain god for a bit.
  • Went back to bed and did not get out of my bed until 11am.
  • Enjoyed a really greasy burger from Culver's.
  • Didn't work out today...too dehydrated...

Am exhausted from all of this...oh wait everyone I am NOT 21? Really? Wow, back in the day I would of ran a marathon the next day. Not today...

Here are some pics from my night.

The men were the DD...thanks guys for letting us let loose. It was great.

Being goofy...

No this is not wife swap....

Cheers to Green Beer

Wouldn't of imagined that I would of went out on St. Patty's Day, but I did. If it falls on a weekend, I like to go out and tip a few back, but on a school night? I would of never thought. It was PACKED!! Our town opened up a new Irish Pub right on Lake Michigan and it was so crowded I thought it was a Friday night. It was wall to wall people drinking, eating corned beef, wearing green, collecting as many green necklaces as you could get. It was just me and hubby. We ran into someone we knew and hung out with him. We left that pub because I was getting knocked around from being so crowded. We headed over to a different place, it wasn't crowded at first, but then ....

Some guy walked in and it was a blast from the past. Someone I went to grade school with and his brother. No big deal, except I taught his brother when he was 6 years old. He is now 23! I felt so old!! He was telling me things about what he remembered from being in my classroom as a first grader. It was from my first teaching job at a Catholic school. I now work in the public schools and have been at this school for 14 1/2 years. Yikes that sounds old! :0

Great night...was home by ten...asleep by 10:30. It is birthday week...I am allowed to do things that I normally wouldn't do.
